Memory's Hockey for the Cure will include 12 teams divided into two 6 team divisions (A - Competitive, B Participation). Each team will play a minimum of three games from Friday through Sunday in an unbalance round format with the top 4 teams advancing to the round robin finals on Sunday. Points will be given by the committee for team spirit and creativity based on uniforms and safe on ice costumes.
Round Robin
Preliminary round features a 6 team pool per division in a round robin format (3 games).
Each period played is similar to a "mini-game" with both teams having the opportunity to gain points by scoring more goals than their opponent in that time frame. Teams will also receive points according to the final score of the game.
The following system will be used to accumulate standings points:
- 4 points awarded for a 'Game Win'- winning Team get 4 points
- 2 points awarded for a 'Game Tie' - both Teams get 2 points
- 2 points awarded for a 'Period Win' - one Team gets 2 points
- 1 point awarded for a 'Period Tie' - both Teams get 1 point
- 0 points awarded for a 'Period Lost' - applies to both teams
- 0 points awarded for a 'Game Loss ' - applies to both teams
Maximum Point Total per Game - 10 (if a Team wins all periods & game). In the case that there is a Points Tie in the divisional round robin standings, we use the ( % Formula )
Playoff Round
All winners are determined by game's final score.
Winners and Runner Up's of respective pools will advance to the Round Robin final .
Tie Breaker Format
1. Goals for / (Goals for + Goals Against) expressed as a %, team with higher % advances.

TOURNAMENT RULES
"A & B Divisions"
No Centre line will be in play. No touch icing.
There will be a five minute warm up at the start of the game. The games will consist of stop time periods; with two 12 minute periods and one 15 minute period. If time is running out on the permit (5 minutes left), the clock will move down to two (2) minutes at the first whistle. (no floods)
Division Playoff Tie Breaker:
At the end of regulation time, a five (5) minute sudden victory period will be played. If still tied, five (5) shooters will be chosen to shoot in a "best of five" shoot-out. If the game is still tied, three (3) different shooters will shoot, in a "sudden death" situation. At the end of the second period, Team captains will name their selected shooters; and a coin toss will decide who shoots first.
Modified CAHA OLDTIMERS RULES apply:
No hits allowed.
No slapshots are permitted.
Game Ejections:
- 3 minor penalties.
- Major penalties.
- Misconducts.
Tournament Expulsions:
- Intent to injure Major Penalty.
- Fighting Major Penalty.
- Gross Misconduct Penalty.
The HFTC Committee reserves the right to enforce a zero tolerance verbal abuse towards on and off ice officials.
